Wirksam bis 72 Stunden (3 Tage); Wirksamkeit nimmt mit der Zeit ab (beste Wirkung in den ersten 24 Stunden). Wirksamkeit kann bei höherem BMI reduziert sein. Stillpause ca. 8 Stunden.
Spirale danach (Kupfer-IUD) – sehr effektiv
Kann i. d. R. bis ca. 5 Tage nach dem Verkehr (teils bis 5 Tage nach Eisprung) in einer gynäkologischen Praxis eingesetzt werden. Höchste Wirksamkeit und danach Langzeitverhütung. Bei >120 h oder unter Enzyminduktoren besonders relevant. → Ärztliche Vorstellung/Kontrolle.
